How I knew I was Going to Marry Him.
Marriage is something I believe in. I have failed at it once, but I'm determined to succeed in it. I will admit I am like thousands of other women. I am in love with love. I love romantic novels, movies, happy endings. And lights at the end of the tunnel. My husband....not so much. Something tells me he didn't watch The Notebook, or Beauty and the Beast. He watched The Terminator.
We definitely grew up differently and therefore we relate to each other in opposite ways. I remember my sister calling marriage a miracle because She said that two completely independent people falling in love and deciding to live their lives together, until death do you part is a complete miracle. And when I stopped and thought about it it absolutely is.
When I met my husband I had no idea that we would be married. Some people say that they knew from the day they met the person. My Story was a little different. Love for my husband came over time. Since, I went through a lot of heartbreak and disappointment, it took time for me to commit completely.
It was hard to trust that he could love me like I needed him to. He was rough around the edges but, I could tell he had a good heart. However, I decided to pray and ask God for clarity. Prayer works, because the more I prayed, the more the Lord began to show and give me a vision of our future and purpose of what he needed from me. After receiving that, I knew he was the one and I was able to make the decision to love him more and open up my heart.
My husband's personality is wonderful. He is the life of the party, but it's his sensitive side, that people rarely see, is what I love the most about him. So, though we are in the first few years of marriage, I look forward to what is to come and I am thankful that the Lord loved me so much, that he thought to send me my husband.
